Summary:
Supporting our Retail Business Unit, the Business Development Manager will identify, develop, and
maximize new opportunities to develop mutually beneficial business partnerships with corporations
primarily across their assigned named accounts. Successful Business Development Manager candidates will possess the key skills, expertise, and experience to effectively prospect for new business, identify new opportunities, and create value through competitive differentiation and consultative dialogue. In addition, successful candidates will have experience closing multimillion-dollar sales engagements and navigating medium to longer-term sales cycles.
Essential Job Functions:
• Selling/closing large ($1M+) services solutions with long (6 months +) sales cycles
• Create and execute a strategy for growing revenue of commercial solution offerings in current
and past client companies
• Develop and execute a prospecting strategy to increase the visibility of MarketSource solutions
at key past and existing companies
• Develop and Execute an Introduction plan with Executive team, Client Services, and Practice
• Leads to make introductions to existing and past clients
• Desire & ability to network, cold call, and prospect for new business in past and current accounts
• Maintain a robust sales pipeline, achieve target pipeline conversation ratios and deal stage
volume
• Intimately understand customers’ core initiatives, and business needs, align capabilities and sales messages accordingly
• Provide leadership, support, and education to internal stakeholders in support of key sales
• initiatives
• Partner with internal stakeholders to effectively move deals through an established sales
engagement process
• Utilization of customer relationship management process to effectively and accurately manage
sales territory, activity, and forecast
• Documentation of best practices, case studies, and methodologies as it relates to wins in the
market
• Negotiate and manage client commitments and expectations
• Act as a sales subject matter expert as part of the overall team responsible for growing new and
existing business
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• In-depth understanding of direct and indirect channel sales motions and strategy, specifically as
it relates to Tech, Finance, Telco, Healthcare, and Manufacturing companies
• Industry contacts in the assigned accounts
• Experience identifying, positioning, and closing large sales and outsourcing engagements
• Background in direct/indirect/inside/outside/sales support/lead generation sales environments.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM applications
• Ensure sales, market, and competitive information is captured and shared
• Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills
• Ability to speak to and motivate groups of people
• Ability to present capabilities and solutions to customers
• Ability to respond to comprehensive and detailed RFPs and customer driven bids
• Excellent time management skills

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, related field, or equivalent experience,
MBA a plus
• Two to five years of prior sales or lead generation experience required
• Direct sales outsourcing experience, a plus.
