Location: Larne, Northern Ireland

Salary: £17,000, Share Scheme, Pension,Flexible working and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).

What do we do?

Electric Power Division (EPD) deliver operational excellence in manufacturing diesel and gas driven generating sets and equipment. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an industrial placement student to join our large electric power team based in Larne. The role it will be based in our Material Cost reduction team, working with others across our organisation, and you will be directly involved and at the heart of our business, participating on strategic projects driving continuous improvement, efficiency gain and cost reduction.

A position has become available for anengineering placement student at Caterpillar (NI) Limited, located in Larnewithin the EPD. The group is responsible for ElectricPower Product Design and the placement is available in the Designfunction. Design placements offer placement students real life product designexperience in a customer focused environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Detail design of EPDproduct components and systems – includes 2D and 3D modelling

  • Technical Calculations

  • Component/ sub-systemssupplier review

  • Liaison with shop floorpersonnel on the assembly/ manufacture of product

  • Complete and applybasic training on engineering standards

  • Completion of any otherassigned tasks in a timely manner to support EPD

  • Carry out all work inaccordance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications
