About the role:

The Site EHS Manager provides leadership of environmental, health and safety practices and environmental sustainability efforts in our manufacturing facility. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the EHS Management System is effective and drives continuous improvement through all facets of the program. This individual serves as the subject matter expert on workplace and jobsite environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory compliance.

This position is part of the EHS Department located in Ashland, VA, reporting to our Sr. EHS Operations Manager and will be on-site day to day.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Reviewing, updating and/or developing and implementing Company EHS policies, procedures and management systems that support a culture of EHS risk management, compliance and continual improvement and assures full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Acting as the EHS/Facility leader for the Business Continuity Plan/Disaster Recovery. This includes all required training, recordkeeping, monitoring and reporting programs and results.

  • Developing and executing actions to reduce EHS risks using the 4E Risk Assessment VES (Veralto Enterprise System) Tools.

  • Leading incident investigations and corrective action closure with urgency pertaining to emergency response events, including but not limited to, environmental or safety incidents and significant near misses

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Related Bachelor’s Degree (safety, industrial hygiene, environmental, chemical engineering) with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience managing an EHS program at a manufacturing or chemical facility; or relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Credible professional certifications are preferred (for example, CSP Certified Safety Professional, CIH Certified Industrial Hygienist)

  • Managed site to conformance to ISO 14001 and 45001 Health, Safety and Environment management systems certifications-preferred

  • RCRA – Hazardous Waste Management Training and basic experience as well as DOT – Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification Training (or ability to achieve) an asset

  • Lean, 4E and 5S and Kaizen experience ideal

US ONLY :

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $90,000 - $100,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
