WTW Health and Benefits Client Consultant in Auckland, New Zealand

This role can be based in any New Zealand location with easy access to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, or Tauranga.

The Role

  • Effectively manage and grow a portfolio of clients, ensuring their Health & Benefit (H&B) needs are identified and met.

  • Consult in relation to H&B solutions: group insurance, medical insurance (domestic and specialty risk), and wellness

  • Deliver on client consulting requirements, including remarketing (tender) of programs, provision of consulting updates (insurer, legislative, best market practice, and managing policy renewal reconciliation)

  • Gather vendor/client information, prepare and analyse benchmark data, communicate trends to clients, develop Request for Proposal (RFP) and client proposal, and make recommendations

  • Involvement with disputed claims/claims advocacy

  • Respond to client enquiries and escalated queries

  • Provide input to new business opportunities

  • Provide consulting guidance to less experienced colleagues within the team in managing clients H&B programs

  • Provide guidance and/or training to Global Benefits Centre as required

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with carriers/insurers, clients, and other key stakeholders (internal and external)

  • The growth of non-insured benefits adds an additional dimension to our clients solutions; the successful candidate will be able to articulate the options to our clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders.

The Requirements

  • Industry-related qualifications and a relevant business degree are desirable

  • New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5)

  • Ability to manage key relationships at HR Director/CFO level

  • Broad understanding of employee benefit offerings

  • Sound oral and written communication skills, both on individual and small group basis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business applications

  • Broad understanding of the business, legal, economic, and financial services environment

  • Proven relationship management skills

  • Knowledge of employment agreements and a good understanding of H&B and related products
