HP Inc. Engineering Operations Manager in Bangkok, Thailand

The role of the Engineering Operations Manager in SMT operations to Final Assembly operations at the supplier/factory level is crucial. They serve as the primary liaison with SC Operations and ODM suppliers and are responsible for promptly addressing any issues that may arise. Additionally, Operation Engineer VI supports the onboarding process for new or transitioning ODMs and ensures that all processes are executed to the highest standards of quality and consistency within the ODM factory.

Job Description

  • This role involves supervising and coordinating all Operational Engineering responsibilities, specifically those related to SMT and Final Assembly in contracted ODM factories.

  • Responsible for onboarding and setting up new factories or factory transitions. Review and develop manufacturing processes that contribute to achieving Operational Excellence.

  • Provide technical support for Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) manufacturing and repair processes with the aim of enhancing their continuous improvement.

  • Perform risk assessment and communicate and mitigate operational risk.

  • Responsible for the quality performance of the ODM factory, with a focus on maintaining high yield rates and conducting thorough end-of-line outgoing quality audits.

  • Provide support for optimizing production UPH and capacity to ensure that all operations run efficiently and effectively and meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

  • Provide feedback to relevant partners regarding issue warnings and ensure the solution is viable for the factory.

  • Implement a shift left approach to enhance field performance optimization.

  • Conduct weekly quality reviews with ODM suppliers as an essential component of our commitment to maintaining excellence in all aspects of the operations.

  • Conduct periodic audits of our ODM suppliers, including process audits and QSA, and work with ODM factories to address any identified gaps.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this position will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Mechanical or Computer Engineering.

  • Candidates who have earned a Master's degree in these fields will be given preferential consideration.

  • Applicants must possess at least 8 years of experience in SMT, Mechanical Assembly, Test, and Industrial Engineering.

  • Candidates shall have good knowledge of PC Product Engineering.

  • Proficient expertise in Design for Excellence (DFx) techniques is an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.

  • Ability to apply Lean Manufacturing to optimize operation activities; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty.

  • Teamwork: Ability to fit in well with a team, understand capabilities and priorities, and foster a collaborative environment.

  • Excellent written and Fluent English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate manufacturing proposals and results and negotiate options at management levels.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using 6-sigma techniques.
