MILACRON PLASTICS TECHNOLOGIES GROUP LLC Senior Machine Inspector in Batavia, Ohio

Shift 1 (United States of America) Position Summary: This role with report to the Runoff and Machine Inspection Manager. This role is key to ensure Milacron's success in providing customers with best-in-class experience through the quality of our machines. This person will inspect machines and the supporting documentation and drive the organization to address any points of deviation. This position is a senior position and requires the ability to provide thorough documentation, clear communication, and to hold other departments accountable. Work You'll Do: Review machines at progressive steps in the build cycle to allow for departments to take corrective actions on open issues. Document findings and communicate the needed end state. Review open issues list on all machines and ensure issues are closed before shipment. Conduct a final inspection of all machines and the supporting documentation before teardown and shipment. Utilize the Quality Management System (Intelex) to document and track issues. Work with (UL, CE, etc.) certification activities, document findings, share findings, and ensure closure. Escalate any non-conformances that cannot be resolved prior to shipment and document the outcomes of the escalation. Prioritize the criticality of open issues and communicate if the issues are safety-related, required, or not-required-but-should-do. Coordinate with Value Stream personnel to ensure they are following documentation processes within their responsibilities. Create and own the Machine Inspection Process. Define, document, Review and communicate the responsibilities and tasks of other departments that support this process. Participate in Kaizen or other workshop activities to provide valuable insights on quality performance and challenges. Basic Qualifications: Technical Degree or Certificate; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. 10 years of experience in a Quality role, or Manufacturing Assembly role with proven critical thinking capability. Extensive experience working with customers to understand quality expectations from the customer. Preferred Qualifications: Proficient, comfortable, and efficient at using technology to record, analyze, and report on large numbers of issues. Ability to read mechanical drawings (1st angle projection), GD&T skills are preferred. Ability to read wiring diagrams and hydraulic circuits is preferred. Deep knowledge of Milacron's products.
