Role Description :

The role of Buyer requires a leader that can drive change in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will lead, coordinate, and support supply chain activities for the MIG Gun Division. The individual will be responsible for supply chain activities to include continual improvement with our suppliers and manufacturing teams, as well as properly collaborating with and executing the ITW Welding Group Companies' strategies. This role is based in our facility in Beecher, IL.

Responsibilities:

• Developing collaborative versus transactional relationships with key vendors. Ensuring any concerns are addressed with a plan for a solution by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

• Activities related to procurement, storage, and shipment of raw materials.

• Evaluating supplier on-time delivery and ensuring vendors scheduling support the needs of production to minimize backlog.

• Maintain healthy inventory levels based on ITW’s Market Rate of Demand (MRD) guidelines. Responsible for managing and maintaining MRD with vendors. Communicate MRD adjustments to suppliers based upon expected material requirements.

• Leads the MRD process and ensures it is being followed. Ensuring any concerns are addressed with a plan for a solution by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

• Responsible for maintaining inventory goals as well as limiting the Slow and Obsolete (SLOB) inventory. Analyze monthly SLOB inventory and implement improvement initiatives to reduce.

• Learn and utilize multiple screens in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, as required.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams such as operations, product management and engineering to maximize efforts in ITW toolbox towards Product Line Simplification.

• Seek and recommend ways to improve department methods and procedures to increase overall efficiency.

• Ensure data integrity and records are up to date within ERP system. Managing the execution of engineering change requests in a timely manner.

• Responsible for raw material disposition when transitioning from an existing product to new product.

• Backup and support the material technician role when needed.

• Daily interaction with production staff.

• Collaborate with quality to ensure ISO 9001 conformance relating to materials and inventory.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifying Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or another relevant field required.

• 1-3 years of related experience within an industrial manufacturing environment required. 3+ years of industrial manufacturing experience as it relates to supply chain functions preferred.

• Computer proficiency including intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point) required.

• Ability to travel 5% of the time with occasional overnight visits required.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel highly preferred.

• Proficient user of Microsoft Dynamic365 ERP system.

• Time management and ability to flex work schedule to satisfy customers.

• Proactive self-starter, conscientious, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.

• Willing to make decisions with minimal input from manager.

• High attention to detail

• Proficient in manipulating, analyzing, and prioritizing several streams of data.

• Proficient in multi-tasking, organizing and prioritizing tasks / projects.

• Ability to interact with all levels of management and work teams.

• Ability to effectively communicate departmental strategies and pivot as information changes.
