Oracle Principal Performance Engineer (DB, Golden Gate, SQL) in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

SaaS Analytics & Integration Performance, Scalability & Benchmark (PSR) group works with applications development organization to maximize the performance of the Fusion Application (FA) Analytics and Spectra Data Integration SaaS cloud products. We review and approve proposed designs, participate actively in evolving development processes, performance guidelines and best practices for the FA development organization. Execute Benchmark the performance of the Analytics/Integration product to identify performance problems, recommend resolution to solve these problems and if needed perform POC with the proposed solution. All the best practices are either converted into tools, whitepaper and training for Support/Ops/SRE teams.Apart from this the group also review the fleet wide customer patterns to ensure overall performance, stability for the product by developing tools, solutions which helps in rapid triage, proactive observation and analysis.

Desired Profile : (DB, GoldenGate & SQL performance)

• A self motivated person who loves technology and can quickly adapt to new tools/technologies and provide recommendations for the same in the ever changing cloud landscape.• Able to work effectively is a very dynamic environment where things change quickly and requires a lot of self motivation to go around finding solutions.

• Extensive BI implementation and design experience, proven Oracle Database, Analytical Views (AVs), SQL, GoldenGate, OAC/OAS platform tuning of large, complex analytics applications. Experience in tuning java or web based applications would be a definite plus.• Prior DB development experience for data warehouse project is a big plus. Deeper understanding of SQL database like Oracle, MySQL would be an added advantage.• Good understanding of NoSQL, distributed database, InMemory (Redis, Memcachd), Full text search DBs (ElasticSearch) would be a plus.• Master of performance testing, tuning & benchmarks concepts and methodologies.• Experience working with Oracle technologies like Database, OAC/OAS, Weblogic Server, Fusion Middleware, ADF etc would be preferred.• Experience working with open source technologies like Kafka, Spark, Flink, ElasticSearch, • Medium to advance level UNIX administration skills is a must.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities will include:

• Understand/gather performance test requirements, prepare suitable test case and test plan. Complete ownership and responsibility on installation, administration, data loading and tuning the BI environment

• Subject matter expert in Oracle DB / SQL / Goldengate in Analytics/Integration domain to help provide deep insight on the performance, scalability of the product. Help development team with providing technical architecture decisions on these technologies.

• Work on critical customer performance issues / cloud fleet patterns and provide short term solutions and root cause analysis.

• Execute performance test using tools like (Shell Scripts/Python/Gatling) for various UI, batch, Integration, micro benchmark analytics use case. Collect respect performance metrics and publish test results.

• Develop tools using Java, Python, shell scripts, Oracle APEX for overall productivity improvement of the day to day task.
