We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Product Configuration with focus in manufacturing process control & execution systems to join our team. This role will drive the implementation of World Class Lean Manufacturing Processes, systems and change management., focusing on safety, quality, and global change efficiency throughout the product Value Stream. Incumbent will be responsible for Product configuration execution within Nuvera business systems building best practices to attend to the need of design, manufacturing, factory planning and supply chain ensuring manufacturing build requirements are properly controlled throughout the factory build process.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Translating Design Specifications into Manufacturing methods and Bill of Materials Structures to support build execution.
Working with Engineering, Design, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing to ensure production variants and customized products meet customer requirements and seamlessly flow through Operations.
Manage various stakeholder inputs with business requirements to support the product structures throughout the lifecycle and scalability ensuring design and change execution support manufacturability and serviceability
Design and implement flexible processes to provide factory process controls, maximize Demand Flow Technology (DFT) methods, and supplement design systems development and support manufacturing execution systems (MES).
Support DFM/DFA manufacturing engineering activities for New Products and provide expertise in process control for both low and high-volume manufacturing flow techniques and their implementation into Nuvera designs and methods.
Support ongoing change management process, translating design requirements for manufacturing control and execution. Ensure temporary and long-term product changes are properly implemented in on going build systems.
Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):
Educational Background
- BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
Previous Work Experience
3+ years relevant experience building complex systems in manufacturing environment with strong monitoring or managing changes
Automotive, Medical or other relevant industry experience
Experience directly supporting Factory Operations and in the application of Lean Manufacturing tools
Experience with ERP / MES systems, CAD review desired but not required
Special Skills, Experience and Abilities
Skilled in the use of DFT or other Lean tools Hands-on experience supporting Production Operations
Creation and optimization of product line flow and use of lean techniques
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management Systems including CAD, ERP, MES
Ability to read and understand part drawings, assembly drawings and schematics
Demonstrated successes in leading projects to drive process optimization for quality improvement or cycle time reduction
Understanding of Manufacturing documentation and ISO 9000 requirements, configuration management and product structures including BOM
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and Visio
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Physical requirements/Work environment
25% Shop-floor and laboratory work environment, 75% office environment
Ability to lift components weighing up to 35 lbs. is required.
May be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods, as needed
Travel Required
- Up to 10% possible, including domestic and international sites
