Ford Motor Company Wind Noise Development Engineer in Bismarck, North Dakota

This team requests EST hours and we prefer candidates able to work hybrid from our Dearborn, MI office.

• Deploy the Ford Wind Noise Development process and help optimize current and future Ford vehicles for wind noise performance

• Leverage Ford’s world class aero-acoustic wind tunnel to support vehicle development and utilize advanced wind tunnel tools like interior and exterior microphone array systems

• Utilize and develop CAE and physical test-based methods to develop vehicle wind noise

• Use CAD tools to review future vehicle designs and confirm they are meeting best practices

• Leverage computational aero-acoustics to develop deep wind noise understanding

• Continuously improving and developing new data mining tools to maximize the benefits of wind noise databases

• Identifying and implementing innovation towards improving process efficiency, agility, quality, and data clarity

• Work will primarily be done on-site (i.e. not remote), collaborating with team members, working on parts and vehicles in the test garage and labs.

You'll have…

• BS in Aero/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering

• 2+ years of industry experience performing physical and/or CAE-based vehicle development

• 2+ years of experience using CAD tools (i.e. Teamcenter, 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA, ANSA etc.)

• Self-directed and confident individual with excellent interpersonal communication skills

• Excellent planning and issue resolution skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

Even better, you may have...

• MS Engineering Degree

• Industry experience with vehicle development in automotive wind tunnels

• Experience using NVH data acquisition systems (i.e. Artemis, Testlab, etc.)

• Knowledge and experience with signal processing and psychoacoustic metrics

• Experience running and/or utilizing CFD simulation results

• Knowledge of automotive vehicle design and architectures

• Experience with Python, Matlab, and or other programing tools

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
