We are currently seeking a USCG Captain at our Bothell, WA location to support our marine services, offshore energy, river restoration and remediation businesses. Our personnel specialize in the acquisition of bathymetric, topographic, geophysical and oceanographic data and environmental sampling throughout the United States and internationally. Work locations include inland lakes and rivers, ports and harbors and near-coastal and offshore sites in support of our public, government and private clients. We conduct surveying and field investigations for remediation and restoration planning, underwater mapping, engineering evaluations including detailed underwater infrastructure assessments for submarine cables and pipelines, dredging, habitat investigations, oceanographic studies and hydroelectric dam assessments. This will be a part-time position. Responsibilities: Management of vessel certifications/paperwork and inspections of vessels (typically ranging from 20-50-ft) Management of other USCG licensed captains. Marketing of vessel related services to other survey and field services clients. Develop and follow plans, specifications, SOPs, procedures and promote safe work practices. Demonstrated competence in Microsoft Office, Windows OS, and experience with terrestrial, hydrographic and/or geophysical survey and charting software packages. Comfortable towing boats on trailers and launching/recovering the boat at boat launches and lifts. Setup, operate, maintain and troubleshoot vessel's motors, controls, electronics, cabling and hardware. Inspect and maintain vessel trailers including repair of axles, tires, brakes, bearings and electrical components. Work aboard boats from 12-250 feet in length, domestically and internationally. Pilot boats precisely along survey lines while fixed and towed systems are attached to the vessel. Operations include, for example collection of multibeam (MBES), single beam echosounder and geophysical survey data is acquired data as well as sediment and benthic sampling efforts. Be self-motivated, hardworking, ethical, trustworthy and dependable. Have strong communication skills and strong desire to learn and do new things. Be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Travel for domestic and foreign work, 40% of the year, assignments is required Ability to work in the field in inclement weather as well as offshore for weeks at a time is required. Physical ability to load/unload equipment (lifting 50 lbs.), walk safely over rugged terrain and up/down ships ladders is required. Requirements: USCG 100TN Captains license (OUPV/ "Six-pack" Captains license may be considered). Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a USCG Captain The candidate will have more than 5 years of field experience as a boat/vessel captain of small and large vessels.
