Job Description

What will I be doing?

The role of Manufacturing Engineer will include the following (but not be limited to):

• Define complex assembly manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency and compliance with the product design specifications.

• Design manufacturing processes which demonstrate the necessary capacity and capability performance required to meet/exceed customer demand.

• Create and validate standard operating procedures, work instruction sheets, quality control points and methods of inspection.

• Ensure that effective plant, equipment and tooling strategies are in place.

• Create routes, BOMS, master layouts, tooling requests, data sheets, CM's and associated drawings.

• Plan, drive and coordinate the activities contributing to the industrial product validation (methods, Purchasing, engineering etc).

• Evaluate the risks of change and identify risks reduction actions via the use of a PFMEA.

Job Requirements

What you need from me?

• Experience of complex assembly manufacturing processes is desirable - particularly within an aerospace context.

• A thorough understanding of bonding, shimming, mechanical fasteners and multi-level assembly is also highly desirable.

• Engineering Degree (with elements of mechanical, manufacturing and materials), HND or equivalent experience.

• A medium/high level of competency within the CATIA v5 modelling application is required in order to interrogate existing 3-dimensional component information.
