Job Title: Engineering 6 Sigma Black Belt
Salary: £45,000 to £52,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

The Innovation & Technology Development team offers some of the most exciting engineering roles within the Caterpillar global organisation. Working on the integration of electronic and electrical systems within multiple Caterpillar products provides the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines within the organisation.
The integration of the latest Electronics and Electrical technology helps differentiate Caterpillar products from its competitors by enabling exceptional performance and value to the customer. Our engine systems control air and fuel delivery with millisecond precision to maximise performance and minimise exhaust emissions. Our integrated machine systems control all aspects of construction machine operation (engine, transmission, hydraulic systems), provide the human-machine interface (operator controls and information displays), and constantly monitor and communicate position, operation, diagnostic and prognostic information to enable machine automation, improved productivity and enhanced serviceability.
The Advanced Components & Technologies (AC&T) division, based in Peterborough (UK), have an exciting opportunity to join the Engine Quality and Reliability (Q&R) Team as a Engineering 6 Sigma Black Belt. Working within both the Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction (NPI) area, you will be responsible for leading complex engine Electronic and Electrical (E&E) projects and delivering solutions to resolve internal and external customer Q&R issues.
With accountability for the resolution of Q&R issues on current engine products and proactive reliability tasks on new products programmes, activities will include:
Conducting reliability analysis of current products
Monitoring performance against targets and identifying Q&R improvement opportunities
Prioritising of issues and projects
Leading complex CPI projects and delivering solutions using CPI 6 Sigma methodology

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
You will need to be self-motivated and have strong problem solving, communication and project management skills. The position requires excellent leadership, customer focus and interpersonal skills in order to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others to take specific actions.
Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Statistical and analytical analysis skills.
Technical capability / experience in electronics, diagnostics and root cause investigation
Project management / leadership experience
6 Sigma DMAIC experience, preferably as a Black Belt leader.
Cross functional experience, working in a multi-discipline environment
Experience with problem solving, preferably on electronic, electrical and control systems.
Working knowledge of 6 Sigma tools and techniques.
Experience of working with dealers and customers.
