AnalyticsProfessionals are the data driven, business professionals using quantitativemethods such as business simulations, data mining and advanced statisticaltechniques to solve problems for internal business partners and externalCaterpillar customers.
As an AdvancedAnalytics Part Time Intern, you will be immersed in our business and introducedto our analytics tools and techniques, enabling you to provide data basedinsights that drive business decisions. In some cases, you will be involved indeveloping new analytics tools customized for Caterpillar applications.
Typicalproblems include, but are not limited to: identifying new potential customersfor marketing opportunities, determining machine application profiles tounderstand operator’s behaviors, conducting different site-level simulationsfor productivity improvement, exploring emerging analytics technology forCaterpillar applications, automating or optimizing business or productdevelopment process, etc.
This positionwill have the expectation to work part-time during the school year with thepossibility of working full-time during the summer at the Champaign SimulationCenter located in Champaign, IL

Must be pursuing a Bachelor, Masters or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences or equivalent technical fields
Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Illinois - Urbana/Champaign
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0/4.0 (no rounding)
Demonstrated experience in software development
1 to 2 years or significant project experience with Python.
