You might be a good fit for this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidations: Assist in the consolidation of financial statements for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This includes income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and accompanying footnotes.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Support the maintenance of the general ledger, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

  • Intercompany Transactions: Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances between various entities, ensuring proper elimination in consolidation entries.

  • Variance Analysis: Conduct in-depth variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, providing insights to management.

  • Budget-to-Actual Analysis: Assist in the preparation of budget-to-actual analyses and other financial performance reports to support decision-making.

  • Audit Support: Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, explanations, and assistance as needed.

  • Financial Controls: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Must have experience with consolidations and financial reporting

  • General ledger experience

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • High attention to detail

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems
