MJ is an established engineering and land surveying consulting firm in Clifton Park with an immediate full-time opening with our accounting department for a Payroll/Accounting Clerk.Payroll responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: •Run weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees •Adjust payroll for employee payroll adjustments•Reconciliation Report for hours worked each week•Reconciliation for benefit deductions•Preparation of Certified Payrolls•Preparation of journal entries•Preparing Monthly/Quarterly EEO Reports•Back up human resources functionsAccounting responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:•Processing Accounts Payable•Preparing Monthly AR Invoices for clients•Provide customer support on billing related questions•Research and resolve invoicing discrepancies where required•General Bookkeeping•Other general accounting functions •Administrative duties as necessaryQualifications:•Minimum 5 years of accounting experience required•Associate degree in accounting or related field required•ADP Workforce Now experience a plus•Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with extensive experience in Excel •Experience with bookkeeping•Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills •Ability to work as a team as well as independently•Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines •Sharp analytical skills and ability to problem-solve•Experience with project management software a plus Pay is based on applicant’s ability/experience and will be rated accordingly.
