QUALITY ENGINEER- FOAM LIAISON COLUMBIA CITY, IN

The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

• Serve as a liaison between customer, Lear Farwell foam plant and Lear Division to ensure consistency of information among all parties.
• Job is located within customer
• Document communications through standardized methods and distribute to all appropriate parties.
• Communicate customer concerns, issues and actions to manufacturing plant using proper systems and procedures.
• Provide immediate response to customer concerns and take all actions necessary to alleviate the concerns.
• Deliver all information necessary to properly communicate the concern (photos, samples etc.).
• Protect customer immediately upon notification of a concern using all tools available. Once the customer is protected, initiate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of concern.
• Ensure that the corporate policies for sorting, rework and containment are followed.
• Define the method of sort or rework clearly.
• Ensure that all stock locations are purged of suspect material.
• Record all sort data and containment actions with appropriate data.
• Ensure that affected material is identified and documented.
• Identify a clean date for certified stock and relay that to the customer.
• Present the JIT plant customer contact a properly formatted 8-D report in a timely manner.
• Track and verify the status of the problem-solving activities and communicate the status to the customer.
• Maintain a Matrix of all open issues, review the status, and update it daily.
• Daily communications with Lear Farwell foam plant.
• Weekly meetings held with Lear Farwell foam plant, the customer, and the Foam Liaison.
• Have working knowledge of Farwells foam products, the foam production process, foam specifications, and foam repair process.

Your Qualifications:

• 2 to 4 year degree preferred, but will make exceptions for equivalent experience
• 1 to 3 years of quality experience
• Familiarity with automotive industry
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Bonus If You Have:

• Experience with Polyurethane Foam
• Exposure to Automotive seating processes
• Previous Quality Liaison experience
