EquipmentShare is searching for a Legal Recovery Specialist to work directly with in-house Collections Counsel in the recovery of unpaid accounts. Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and deliver demand letters to customers

  • Manage customer correspondence (phone calls, emails, etc.) to assist with collection effort

  • Coordinate payment arrangements

  • Assist the attorney in preparing accounts for suit

  • Prepare and review legal documents such as petitions, exhibits, affidavits, discovery requests and responses, judgments, executions, liens, garnishments, etc.

  • Assist with e-filing cases on the court’s case filing system and other data entry functions

  • Assist attorney with preparing for hearings

  • Communicate with local court clerks, process servers, and sheriffs

  • Manage cases from the initial filing to final judgment

  • Calendar hearings and manage court dockets

  • Skiptrace customers using various tools and softwares to ensure we have the most up-to-date information

  • Research state statutes for various related legal issues such as local collections laws, liens, garnishments, levys, etc.

  • Assist attorney with reviewing and responding to discovery requests and other motions

  • Conduct various administrative duties to include data entry, account audits, and document review and drafting as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Collections experience preferred but not required

  • Strong foundation in MS Office and GSuite tools preferred

  • Proactive work ethic demonstrating initiative

  • Ability to multi-task within a fast-paced work environment with very detailed information and maintain a high degree of accuracy

  • Ability to organize, coordinate, manage self and time effectively, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and persuasively with employees, managers, customers, and the public, both verbally and in writing

  • Self-directed and able to learn and work effectively both independently and in a team environment

  • Adaptable to growth and changes in organization, role, and systems

  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Columbia, MO

  • Ability to sit for extended periods

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
