This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On as Site Operations Readiness Project Manager

Voice of Site: Provides voice of customer for Site Operations and engages within the site and across sites to ensure robust operations feedback to the project teams.

  • Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing a project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; resolve operational problems, minimize delays.

  • Prepare designs and work specifications; develop schedules, budgets and forecasts; select materials, equipment, project staff, and contractors.

  • Liaise with other areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project.

  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.

  • Coach and mentor project staff and assist them to solve problems.

  • Responsible and accountable for all aspects of a particular program including the determination of product requirements, facilitation of program planning, tracking program costs and schedules, updates and other communications to the program team and other stakeholders, and ensuring that the delivered product meets the customer's expectations for quality and functionality

  • Analyze complex problems and identify areas of risk; mitigate program and execution risks through early risk assessments and implementation of mitigation strategies

  • Responsible for ensuring completion of documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with business standards;

  • Lead and act as a trusted advisor; balance bottom line objectives with long-term interests of the customer

  • Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

Project Management:

  • Drives development and ongoing updates for detailed scope, schedule, and budget for site-specific workstreams.

  • Manages all workstreams in purview.

  • Develops strategy and gains alignment on project resource structure and requirements, advocates for the needs of the site.

  • Drives robust development and buy-in for learning curve, IME, line Head Count analyses in support of the RCE. Leads development of the training plan. Leads the site and division teams through the learning curve and seeks to achieve overall business goals and objectives within stated line performance domains.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Proactive stakeholder management at all levels including but not limited to within site, Division cross-functional teams, Site Director, Operations DVP, Engineering DVP.

  • Expected to work across functional areas when needed to gain alignment.

Communication:

  • Provides updates and recommendations to program and executive leadership to enable workstream progress.

  • Leads project governance within the site. Is single point of contact.

Risk Management:

  • Develops robust risk management plan for site and rolls up to program risk mgmt.

  • Facilitates development and completion of site incident management tools such as FMEAs, RCAs, and other root cause techniques.

Safety :

  • Facilitates building a detailed safety plan and drives operations focused safety initiatives for areas in project scope.

  • Drives safety-focused culture. Interacts with Safety professionals at Site and Division on a regular basis.

Validation :

  • In partnership with Division Engineering, ensure site engagement on all aspects of Qualification/Validation for the line, associated equipment/processes, and all products in scope.

  • Additionally, leads and drives to completion all aspects of PQ/PV and CIP work with Div Eng support.

  • Ensures site resources are allocated appropriately for development and execution of all documentation and runs.

Leadership :

  • Endeavors to be in lock-step with the other areas of the program; a proactive, mindful leader who removes obstacles while always keeping quality top of mind.

  • An engaging ambassador of the project ensuring that the plant broadly understands the project by providing project progress status and other opportunities to be informed; proactively conceptualizes and leads communication avenues for the site.

  • Builds excitement and addresses detractors professionally.

Project Success:

  • Builds a detailed and compelling learning curve proposal.

  • Gains stakeholder alignment and is accountable for driving the initiatives.

  • Supports development and gain operations alignment on a holistic plan including early/extended team member involvement to ensure overall program success.

Education and Experience You'll Bring Required: Bachelor's degree (preferably in engineering, science or a closely related discipline is desired) or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence

  • Requires 8+ years of experience in a complex, technical program / project management role to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.

  • Willingness to learn project management methodologies

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree (such as a Master's or MBA) is preferred

  • post-graduate education may contribute toward the desired years of experience

  • PMP desirable.

The base pay for this position is $95,000.00 – $190,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
