Full Time Perm

Way of Work : Hybrid - two days on location

Location: Columbus, OH or Merrillville, IN

Salary Range : $91,000 - $136,600, plus annual bonus

The IT Applications team is accountable for applications in the Finance, Supply Chain, Communications, and Legal departments.

The Senior Data Analyst, reporting to Manager of IT Applications, will participate in the solution of designs including gathering requirements, writing technical specifications, configuration, and performing testing for application support in their assigned department. This will require strong coordination and communication with business partners and IT service providers to ensure IT adheres to the agreed to Operating Level Agreements (OLAs) and defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The Sr. Data Analyst will act as a PO for an Agile line responsible for Data Ingestion activities and manage the prioritization of backlog items for the team and will also be responsible for driving the performance of our IT Service Providers and provide enhanced guidance for technical problem support and issue management. This will include ensuring proper systems documentation is reviewed, approved, and maintained in the repository of record by the service providers.

The Sr. Data Analyst will focus on and drive all data ingestion activities with the following teams:

  • Project teams who may need new data to be pulled into the enterprise data lake,

  • Data and analytics teams who may be working on data governance and data consumption (dashboard / analytics) related activities,

  • Align the overall work with the IT Enterprise Architecture and Cyber Security roadmap and ensure data ingestion processes are designed appropriately.

  • Ensure work is prioritized for an agile line responsible for data ingestion and transformation activities.

  • The role will be reporting into IT organization but the Sr. Data analyst to perform coordination activities with Data and Analytics team to prioritize the work for data ingestion team.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Demand Assessment - assist Business Relationship Managers to review and provide input into the business strategy and formulate business cases inputting analysis and views on high level business goals and outcomes.

  • Definition and Design - facilitate workshops to evolve scope, gather detailed requirements, develop use cases, and begin visualizing the result, using standard tools and techniques.

  • Requirements Elicitation: Leads, designs, and facilitates business engagements to establish scope, business needs, project objectives, outcomes, and expectations on business processes.

  • Solution Assessment & Validation: Engages with key stakeholders to influence the solution design to meet business goals, scope, and strategy requirements. Provides input into the identification and delivery of project benefits, traceability of requirements and impact of solutions. Develops cross business and service user communications, acceptance test plans and supports testing and implementation.

  • Facilitate session to gather the ingestion requirements with project teams who may need new data to be pulled into the enterprise data lake.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of experience as Product Owner in data space

  • 3+ years of experience articulating business impacts due to IT incidents

  • 5+ years of experience with business modeling concepts and business application development

  • 5+ years of experience working with Data Engineering and/or Analytics with a focus on ETL and/or Data ingestion from various source systems.

  • Hands on experience with Data ingestion activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility experience

  • Financial acumen ability to put together and manage domain specific total cost of ownership with help from Finance teams.

  • Foundational understanding of contracts

  • Experience with Data and Analytics teams who may be working on data governance and data consumption (dashboard / analytics) related activities.

  • Heavy documentation, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with hybrid agile / iterative development methodologies.

  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Certified Business Analyst professional (CBAP)

  • Knowledge / experience using testing tool like HP ALM/Q-Test and agile development tools like JIRA.
