Caterpillar Large Power Systems Division (LPSD)designs and manufactures diesel, gas and reman, ranging from 400 kilowatts to16 megawatts of power, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air,aftertreatment and cooling which are used to power oil & gas, electricpower, marine, rail and Cat machine applications around the world.Even while building deep expertise in one function, our employees can experience different career opportunities by moving between our many business units, locations and product lines throughout their career.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with engineering staff to collect data for capital and salvage projects.

  • Ensure the accuracy of existing documentation released to operations including line rates and sequenced procedures.

  • Create Standard Work for various areas within Operations.

  • Perform capacity analysis studies on production work areas and equipment.

  • Assist the Continuous Product Improvement group with quality and warranty data analysis.

  • Create AutoCAD drawings of production tooling.

  • Perform routine duties such as process waste elimination and safety walks.

  • Use of 3-D printed proto-types or useable gages and assembly fixtures

rotational program for a maximum of three rotations.

Rotation 1 - Summer 2019, Spring 2020 and Fall 2020

Rotation 2 - Fall 2019, Summer 2020 and Spring 2021

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering

  • Applicant must be able to work 40 hours per week

  • GPA requirements: cumulative 2.8 minimum GPA

Desired Skills:

  • Highly desired skills are the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

  • The candidate should also have good analytical, computer and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodology and auto cad will be valuable.

This is a part time temporary opening in Corinth, MS. Relocation is not available for this position, however, all housing expenses are paid (rent, electricity, water and cable).
