As a Supply Chain PerformanceEngineer, you will perform performs work on project teams involving materialsuppliers and facility Supply Chain personnel to increase supplier capability.You will also, participate in lean events to deliver tools, processes andexpertise to Cat’s suppliers to enable them to replenish material toCaterpillar pull trigger systems and develop the supplier plan for every part.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include,but are not limited to:

\

  • Work with suppliers to build lean supply chain capability in the areas ofmaterial replenishment to facilities, improved Sales and Operations Planning,high-velocity throughput, optimized logistics and capacity planning

\

  • Work on project teams comprised of multi-functional resources, includingfacility supply chain planning, site global purchasing, operations, receiving,Global Transportation, Demand and Orders, Material Requirements Planning andLogistics

\

  • Participate in lean events and works collaboratively with suppliers andmultiple facility functions to address and resolve supplier issues using rootcause and corrective action (RCCA)

\

  • Perform tactical work to develop supplier value stream maps and to developsupplier plans for every part

\

  • Work on project teams improving material flow and preparing suppliers torespond to pull triggers

\

  • Address day-to-day supplier constraints to improve supplier performance andtheir ability to flexibly and rapidly respond to Caterpillar requirements, allwhile using a root cause and corrective action (RCCA) approach to ensure norepeat issues

\

  • Perform work to deploy pull replenishment at supplier facilities, includingsupplier inventory sizing activities

\

  • Perform the Supply Chain Planning Process with suppliers, providing supportto project teams

\

  • Work on projects to implement improved supplier collaboration withCaterpillar and third party service providers using common collaborationtechnologies

\

  • Support and facilitate supplier interaction with facility packaging andtransportation resources to optimize packaging, containerization, point of usepresentation, barcode labeling, ASN compliance, enhanced communications relatedto quality improvements, and improving carrier selection and transportationcontainer optimization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

\

  • Bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain or Manufacturing Engineering, or 3 years Supply Chain or Supplier Development related experience

Top Candidates will also have:

\

  • APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification

\

  • Experience in Global Purchasing, Material Requirements, or Supply Chain / Logistics

\

  • Knowledge and understanding of 6 Sigma project management principles

\

  • CPS Functional Job Role Qualified

\

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

\

  • Solid product knowledge

\

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus

\

  • Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures, especially those with supplier impact

\

  • Solid supply chain planning, demand and orders, logistics and manufacturing knowledge
