Job Purpose: To lead Resource Industries lean efforts to drive a change in focus to a lean culture. Lean impacts 100% of totalcorporate revenue by supporting enterprise goals through improvements across the extended product value stream(EPVS); including processes in all manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas. Lean methodology focuses specificallyon the priorities of Built in Quality (BIQ), Right part, Right Time (RPRT), Shortening Lead Times (SLT), Capital Utilization(CU), and Manpower Utilization (MU).

We are looking for a Lean Director to:

  • Lead, coach and mentor Extended Product Value Stream (EPVS) leadership teams to improve critical business processes that drive significant financial results

  • Deploy the lean principles of Built in Quality, Right Part Right Time, Short Lead Time, Capital Utilization and Manpower Utilization

  • Bring deep and broad experience and knowledge across functions in order to provide consulting and support for stakeholders in the EPVS transformations across the segment

  • Actively support programs and strategies that advance end to end lean processes across the organization, addressing complex processes, business strategies and value streams

  • Lead revolutionary change across the enterprise by diagnosing complex business problems and providing recommended treatment plans to accelerate business improvements through the implementation of Lean Principles

  • Coach the leadership team by exposing opportunities, recommending priorities within project plans, leverage existing processes and systems like CPS and 6 Sigma, evaluating risk management and recommending consulting / strategies to fully engage the team to drive the needed cultural changes to achieve sustainable lean capabilities

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business

  • Demonstrated strong leadership and experience leading in a manufacturing environment

  • Measurable results implementing Lean in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Order to Delivery (OTD) areas and proven leadership skills in managing or supporting large scale manufacturing operations.

  • Strong project management and team leadership skills

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience leading a global team

  • Experience working with Unions

  • Cross-functional knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Manufacturing / Operations (machining, fab, assembly)

  • Supply Chain

  • Quality

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Product Engineering

  • Finance / Accounting

  • Human Resources
