U.S. Commercial Banking teams build lasting relationships with business owners and executives throughout the country to help them realize their ambitions. We combine deep expertise and market insight with powerful solutions and high-touch service to provide the flexibility, responsiveness and support that set us apart in the industry. Our strategic priorities include: adding new strategic relationships, building and deepening existing relationships, and increasing referral activity across all lines of business.

As a member of the Commercial Banking team, you’ll work with our clients to create end-to-end financial solutions to help build a comprehensive approach to finance growth, manage cash flow, increase efficiency and mitigate risk. A Senior Relationship Manager, Commercial Banking Middle Market is a seasoned professional responsible for meeting the needs of clients and driving business growth in the commercial segments, leveraging partnerships with the broader market team to deliver a broad range of Commercial Banking solutions. As a Relationship Manager you will manage and grow a portfolio of Commercial Banking clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the community and ensuring clients’ day-to-day banking needs are being met at the highest level. As a strategic partner to leading companies you’ll be delivering flexible business solutions, dedicated business expertise and timely business advice to help clients realize their goals.

How you'll succeed

  • Relationship building - Develop new client relationships through business development activities, leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centrers of influence. Actively monitor and manage these relationships by fully understanding our clients’ goals, purpose and the status of our clients’ business.

  • Teamwork - Work with internal partners to connect clients with opportunities. Commit to building a profile in the local business community in order to leverage that profile into effective working relationships with new and existing clients and internal partners.

  • Client experience - Proactively assess your clients’ needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs. Interact with clients as necessary to facilitate prompt response to questions, inquiries or issues in order to provide “best in class” service. Apply acquired industry/company knowledge to the development of client/prospect proposals for financial and strategic solutions to meet client needs.

  • You demonstrate experience in Commercial Banking, demonstrated business development skills, and a solid understanding of financial statements and account principles including valuation techniques and cash flow analysis. You have experience managing the credit quality of a portfolio of commercial banking clients that have credit needs, generally in the $10-100MM range, and/or complex cash management requirements.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package.  This role has an expected salary range of $135,000 - $201,000 for the Colorado market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.  The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
