City of Duluth Workforce Development Gift Shop Cashier Training - for income eligible older workers age 55 and older (SCSEP) in Duluth, Minnesota

Gift Shop Cashier Training through the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), a Department of Labor training program that helps eligible older adults find employment in the private sector. Training may include the following: Greet customers, visitors and staff as they enter the Gift Shop Provide help in gift selection Ring up customer purchases on cash register Take payment and make change if necessary Do charges for customers (credit card or in house) Mark in merchandise as directed by manager Keep shop tidy and replace sold merchandise as directed by staff Answer phone calls The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is a Department of Labor training program that helps eligible older adults find employment in the private sector. Temporary paid internship training assignments are provided at non-profit and governmental agencies in Duluth. Job search techniques are taught and job search in the private sector is required. Applicants must be age 55 or older, residents of Minnesota, unemployed, and income eligible. Veterans and their spouses are encouraged to apply.
