AWS Cloud Engineer


Caterpillar is looking for a cloud engineer interested in assisting the build out and adoption of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing automation, deployment, and operations assignments without close supervision;

  • Working independently on complex, globally distributed cloud technology components that may be used by one or more applications or systems;

  • Deploying or integrating cloud technologies based on requirements from solution architects;

  • Assisting customers with documentation, training and usability efforts;

  • Driving automation to operational processes (patching, autoscaling, etc.)


Required experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in infrastructure operations or application development

  • 1-3 years’ experience developing automated solutions to deploy infrastructure or applications (PowerShell, Python, JSON or YAML)

Desired Experience

  • Certification in AWS

  • Basic knowledge of RHEL/Windows server environments

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and/or application connectivity issues across a complex global network

  • Experience using the Agile methodology

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps (Microsoft VSTS)

  • Experience working with corporate security on infrastructure or applications security compliance and remediation activities (ie: Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline)
