Corporate Intern: Information Technology - Summer 2019

Information Technology Interns at Caterpillar perform the same challenging work assignments as our new full-time hires. We work with our teams to ensure that every intern gains the appropriate professional and personal growth necessary to be successful in a corporate environment. This position is a great way to gain hands on experience by supporting the IT operations at a world-leading manufacturing company. Summer 2019 interns will work 40 hours a week from May 20, 2019 to August 9, 2019. Below are areas of open internship positions:

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled full time at a 4-year accredited university/college in an IT related degree program or sequence

  • 12 completed semester hours at a 4-year university prior to start of internship or currently participating in a Caterpillar student program and will be attending a 4-year university beginning Fall 2019

  • Minimum cumulative GPA requirement 3.0 (no rounding)

  • Expected graduation date December 2019 and beyond.

  • Must be able to relocate to Peoria, IL area or indicated work location for duration of internship, and complete daily work commute using reliable transportation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience

  • Previous internship in Information Technology

  • Proficiency in any of the computer software applications or programming languages or technologies

Examples include: Java, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL, DB2, IMS, .Net, C, C , C#, Scrum, Tableau, Hanna, Hadoop, User Experience, Malware, HTML, AWS, Azure, Web Content Management, SAP or CSS

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, must be detail oriented

  • Customer focused

  • Display high sense of urgency

  • Effective time management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work independently or as a collaborative team member

  • Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures
