Summary About the Position: As the Regional Logistics Manager between Division, subordinate districts & the Logistics Activity Center, you will serve as functional expert and principle advisor to the Division Commander & staff on all aspects of logistics management. External status candidates should apply to Announcement # .CERA249973343972 Responsibilities Performs staff visits and inspections to field activities to provide technical assistance and to monitor status of new and ongoing program execution in all areas of logistics management. Manages logistics career programs for subordinate employees in the transportation, supply, and maintenance management career fields. Develops logistics portion of operational and contingency plans in support of division unique technical and emergency management missions (i.e. COOP); planning duties supporting initiatives and projects identified by USACE Logistics Corporate Board. Formulates regulatory, operational, and policy guidance in the absence of higher headquarter guidance. Performs real property management program oversight which includes all division and district facilities except the civil works project specific property; e.g., locks, dams and power plants. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing logistics functional programs such as supply management, transportation, facilities, maintenance; military, civil works, and contingency planning; and completing studies and projects by utilizing knowledge of program objectives, organizations, functions, and missions of various organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Organizational Awareness Planning and Evaluating Problem Solving Strategic Thinking Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years; however, return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. If applicable, returns rights may be negotiated upon selection. If return rights are approved, a return rights agreement/statement of understanding will be required to be completed prior to appointment.
