  • ​​Within Azure Data, the data integration team builds data gravity on the Microsoft Cloud. Massive volumes of data are generated – not just from transactional systems of record, but also from the world around us.  Our data integration products – Azure Data Factory and Power Query make it easy for customers to bring in, clean, shape, and join data, to extract intelligence.​

  • ​​We’re the team that developed the Mashup Engine (M), Power Query, M Connectors and the Data Gateway. We already ship monthly to millions of users across Excel, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Flow, and PowerApps; but in many ways we’re just getting started. We’re building new services, experiences, and engine capabilities that will broaden the reach of our technologies to several new areas – automated dataflows, data “intelligence”, and large-scale data analytics. We plan to use example-based interaction and innovative visualization to make data access and transformation even more intuitive for non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement performant and engaging web user interfaces for data visualization / exploration / transformation / connectivity and data flow management.

  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers, technical leads) to determine user requirements for a scenario.

  • Ensure appropriate continuous feedback loops measuring customer value, usage patterns, and other actionable metrics of value are incorporated.

  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a small, motivated team of engineers and product managers.

  • Experiment with and recommend new technologies that simplify or improve the tech stack.

  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system / product / service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

  • Alert stakeholders as to status and initiates actions to restore system / product / service for simple problems and complex problems when appropriate.

  • Respond within Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeframe and drives efforts to reduce incident volume, looking globally at incidences and providing broad resolutions.

  • Escalates issues to appropriate owners.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in business analytics, data science, data modeling or data engineering work

o OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field o OR equivalent experience.
