The Building Design team is accountable for most efficient designs for India, MENA and APAC. We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our team as subject matter expert in the field of HVAC, Building Automation and Fire Protection systems within Amazon Fulfilment network. The ideal candidate will possess a mechanical background that enables him/her to undertake the challenges of designing and innovating to provide most effective solutions and a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically in aligning building design with the larger objectives of the business.

You’ll be a part of a diverse team of architects, electrical engineers, Project Managers, real estate transaction managers. You will interact with reliability and maintenance engineers (RME), security experts, operations managers, safety and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across Amazon Fulfilment Network to help us deliver the highest standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will design and uphold the standards for HVAC and Fire Fighting Systems and support the RME team in operating and maintaining the mechanical and fire-fighting infrastructure following a process-oriented approach.

Key job responsibilities

  • Performing Heat load calculations, equipment selection, I/O summary, control logics

  • Develop, execute and improve an owner-led HVAC and fire protection design from ground up. This program will include creation of construction documents, code compliance, design and installation standards, owners’ requirements documentation

  • Ability to ascertain design needs to help develop project scope and specifications for HVAC and Fire Fighting systems

  • Performing inspection, testing, and commission of the facility systems

  • Responsible for providing high quality HVAC and Fire protection services engineering advice on designs on a wide variety of projects globally.

  • Work alongside design engineering and risk management, to review concept designs and designs in progress to ensure they meet established design standards, local code requirements

  • Review and approve contractor’s QA/QC Plans to ensure alignment with owner’s requirements

  • Identify solutions through root cause analysis and execute and audit feedback/solution mechanisms to ensure design issues are fixed permanently

  • Sustainability in designs

  • Work individually and as part of a team to develop new products, support existing products, test and evaluate equipment.

  • Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget .

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in complex work environments, including (but not limited to robotics, automation, diagnostic and test equipment)

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement principles & techniques
