Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking passionate, engaged, and qualified Payloads Engineering First Level Manager (M,F,D ) in Hamburg, Germany to lead a high-performing BCA Payloads engineering team providing a variety of technical solutions and complex project oversight in support of existing and future commercial airplane cabin products.

The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of what you don’t. The interior of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission, represent their brand, and shape how the public experiences flight.

Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to guide multi-faceted projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Keep safety and quality at the forefront of all activities.

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities.

  • Leads development of engineering solutions for the Payloads Engineering function in support of current and future commercial airplane products.

  • Provides oversight to complex projects; integrating multiple considerations including: suppliers, interfacing engineering teams, production system needs, regulations, and airline requirements.

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees.

  • Builds relationships and coordinates work across multi-national sites and teams to complete work.

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an accredited course of study, in aerospace or other safety critical engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role

  • Experience leading a team

  • Fluency in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience as manager of a technical workforce

  • Experience working with multi-national teams

  • Knowledge of Boeing products and processes

  • Knowledge of aircraft Cabin, Cargo, and Cabin System products

  • Experience with commercial aircraft certification processes and regulations

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
