Reference #: 4390698 THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB), an independent state agency with more than $3 billion sales yearly, is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to serve as an Attorney 4, Supervisory within the Office of Chief Counsel.  If you have strong litigation experience and/or experience handling liquor licensing matters, the PLCB wants to talk to you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will oversee subordinate attorneys who handle PLCB's Bureau of Licensing in administrative proceedings and then subsequently represents the Board in appeals before county common pleas courts and/or the Commonwealth Court. legal work ranging from moderately difficult to complex. You may also supervise support staff. Your responsibilities will include assigning and reviewing work, evaluating employee performance, resolving complaints, interpreting labor agreements, and ensuring staff development. You will report to the Chief Counsel or Executive Deputy Chief Counsel and will be responsible for assigning and reviewing the work of specific staff attorneys.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Seven years of professional legal experience, and graduation from an accredited school of law; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Post Employment Requirement: Applicants must be certified for admission to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and must maintain membership on a continuous basis during employment. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualification (not required): Strong litigation experience and/or experience handling liquor licensing matters. Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation.  An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.  Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
