DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position is in the Bureau of Waste Management's Division of Municipal and Residual Waste and reports directly to the Division Chief, focusing on special projects and assignments. An employee in this position performs a variety of duties for the division involving the regulation and permitting of facilities and providing guidance to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations, permits, and environmental laws. This position also assists in the analysis of proposed state and federal solid waste legislation and the development of the division's regulations, policy and procedures, reviews applications under the Department's Environmental Education Grants Program, and communicates with and provides guidance to the regulated community.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a Solid Waste Specialist; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which affords the applicant the required knowledges and abilities.

Necessary Special Requirement: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
