We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our team and be responsible for supporting secrets management and configuration systems. This team is responsible for the providing and securing the secrets for thousands of applications in Walmart across our hybrid cloud environment. This team is also responsible for configuration management for several thousands of applications.

As a Princpal Software Engineer, you will play a lead role in the development of a platform (and associated tooling) utilizing the existing secrets management platform and configuration management platform. The new platform will provide full automation for configuration and secrets management, there by increasing productivity, increasing security, resiliency of system. You will be responsible to build and maintain this mission critical system integrating vault and config systems. You will keep the standards high and adhere to operational excellence an engineering excellence while coming up with right solutions.

Responsibilities :

  • Design, build and maintain config & secrets systems integration, tools, and infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with customers, grow the platform as product and build capabilities that helps the customers.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions to improve platforms and optimize systems.

  • Come up and with best architectural practices and enforce them to build secure, scalable, and efficient platforms and procedures.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers, establish best practices and standards. Work with peer architects to collaborate and share common practices across org.

  • Conduct research and stay up to date on the industry trends and latest technical advancement in the config and secrets area.

  • Provide necessary support Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to secrets management systems and infrastructure.

Desired Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering.

  • Expertise in design and architecture of complex distributed applications.

  • Expertise in programming in Java, Spring frameworks

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong understanding of Software security, software engineering and architecture best practices.

  • Experience working on Vault systems or Configuration management systems.

  • Experience working with large scale systems and cloud native systems.

  • Strong communications and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working with DevOps processes and CICD pipelines

HOBOKEN, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00

Bentonville, Arkansas US-10735:The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
