JOB SUMMARY

The Accounting Officer reports to the Senior Accounting Manager to support the accounting operations and processes in Hong Kong office.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • Degree holder in Accountancy or relevant discipline

  • Minimum 4 years of commercial accounting experience, audit experience is an advantage

  • Preference for accounting experience with major multinational corporations

  • Knowledge/expertise in process improvement will be a plus

  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to think laterally, attentive to details, adaptive to changes

  • Ability to work independently, strong time management skills

  • Self-starter with strong tendency toward pro-active process improvement

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel

  • Hands on experience in PeopleSoft is a plus

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Process vendor invoices and other payment requests in a timely manner, verify the accuracy and completeness of payment documentation and ensure proper authorization.

  • Maintain and execute an effective system control for areas of responsibility, monitor the data flows from Procurement system to Payment system.

  • Participate in month-ended, quarter-ended and year-ended closing and ensure that all are completed accurately and properly reflected in the Profit and Loss accounts and Balance Sheets and in accordance with corporate policies and guidelines in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with different departments to prepare monthly year-to-date cost reports and address related queries.

  • Liaise and coordinate with Marriott Business Support Team and third-party system support team to resolve day to day operation issues.

  • Participate in system enhancement projects.

  • Develop and streamline processes and procedures to enhance the workflows and efficiency of the daily operation.

  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned if necessary.
