JOB SUMMARY

Nabors is a Drilling Company in the petroleum industry seeking highly motivated and skilled Mechanical or (Civil) Structural Engineering juniors, seniors, and graduate students to join our Rig Engineering Team for a paid summer internship. As an intern, in addition to gaining valuable oil & gas experience, you will be assigned a real-life challenges that will test your technical and problem-solving skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Gain a basic level understanding of oil & gas drilling rigs, including their structures, systems, and equipment

• Brainstorm and attempt to solve real-world challenges under supervision of experienced engineers

• Perform calculations to validate design options

• Research suppliers and market available components as part of cost analysis for hypothetical solutions

• Report on researched ideas – both written and presentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Mechanical or (Civil) Structural Engineering program with 1-2 summers left before graduation, or a graduate student pursuing a Masters in the same fields.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Self-motivated and eager to learn

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

The primary location for this position is at our Corporate office with possible field travel to our various district offices and or rigs.
