Fortec Medical Junior Accountant in Hudson, Ohio

*Job Description * As ForTec Medical continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior Accountant position to join our team.  Responsibilities include organizing, maintaining, and analyzing multiple company's accounting records, general ledger accounts and financial statements. In this position, you will collaborate with multiple departments to develop necessary accounting and financial reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.  Additional job details are listed below:

  • Maintain financial reports, records and general ledger accounts
  • Prepare journal entries, analysis and participating in the monthly close processes
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare property tax returns, US Census reports and other jurisdictional reporting as prescribed by jurisdictions and accounting calendar
  • Respond to information requests and reviewing financial statements
  • Support the annual financial audit and other state and local regulatory requirements
  • Document new processes or procedures and update existing standard operating procedures as needed.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner to achieve the overall objectives of this position
  • Keep immediate manager promptly informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in business or accounting or equivalent work experience
  • Experience:  0 - 2+ years work experience in AR, AP or as a staff accountant
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Great Plains software experience preferred, but not required
  • Exceptional analytical skills to assess problems and develop solutions
  • Excellent judgement, strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to function effectively in meeting deadlines and follow through
  •  Ability to manage high volume activity during busy times of the month/year 
  • Intermediate level or higher computer skills in a paperless environment
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, or unexpected events in a professional and diplomatic manner
