This position provides a seasoned performance engineer with an opportunity to work on various load-testing tools along with system monitoring and profiling. It allows to think and execute like a developer while performing the role of Performance QA. You will foster a strong sense of team camaraderie and leverage your collaborative nature as you work closely with internal business partners to enhance our flagship product.

Technically as a senior performance engineer, you will ensure adherence to and measurement against defined application and transaction SLAs, implement proactive application monitoring, alarming and reporting. In the process, you will understand application architecture, system environments (ex: shared resources, components and services, CPU, memory, storage, network, etc.) to help troubleshoot production performance issues

What you’ll work on:

  • Design and execute different performance test strategies depending on project requirements

  • Analyze test results and establish reliable application performance metrics for response time, throughput, SLA etc

  • Evolve our performance testing tools, processes, analysis methodologies, as well as capacity planning

  • Identify existing bottlenecks in the hardware and software platform, application code stack, network and disk IO

  • Measure and document reliable predictions on potential bottlenecks as computing platforms and workloads change

  • Communicate test results and analysis to Engineering, Operations, PM, Network and DB teams

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related field

  • 6-10 years of experience with key performance test tools including LoadRunner/HP Performance Center, Jmeter, FileZilla, Dyna Trace, Splunk, DataDog, or equivalent

  • Practical experience with C#, .NET, Selenium, SQL etc

  • Debugging tools: Dev Tools, Network Sniffer, Fiddler etc.

  • Knowledge of monitoring, profiling and tuning tools e.g AppDynamics etc

  • Should be able to create SQL queries that can parse and validate business rules/calculations across tables to ensure the maximum possible data coverage

  • Exposure to a varied environments and products like Web Services, SOAP, XML messaging, SOA Architecture etc.

  • Experience with monitoring solutions and KPIs used to determine application availability and performance

  • Experience creating load test scripts with AjaxTruClient, Web (Http/HTML), Webservices

  • Fundamental knowledge of DevOps pipelines in Teamcity/ GitLab/ Azure

  • Ability to effectively communication both verbal and written

  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment, and also have the ability to work independently

  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment is preferred

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Experience in scripting languages like shell and groovy

  • Experience in Performance tuning

  • Integration services experience, especially with MQ Series or Web Services

  • Working knowledge of AWS technologies and/or Serverless architectures

  • Experience with docker, terraform etc is a plus

  • Financial domain knowledge

  • SOA / jQuery / HTML5

  • RESTful API development
