SOL Engineering Services, LLC is searching for a Payroll Accountant to perform a wide variety of accounting duties with a focus on accounts payable and payroll. In this role, you will be responsible the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll which includes reviewing and ensuring accuracy of approved time sheets; tracking and deducting all garnishments and other special payroll deductions. Accounts Payable duties are full cycle processing of invoices as well as expense reports. You must be able to review and audit employee expense reports and receipts according to the company travel policy. Accounts payable duties include setting up vendors; communicating with vendors to answer all inquiries; coding invoices; paying bills; and assisting with audits. Duties and assignments may overlap depending on the operational needs of the department and staffing levels.

· Prepare and process payroll in a timely manner

· Review and process approved time sheets

· Assist with the administration of the electronic timekeeping system, including setup of employees, valid programs for each employee's charges, and adherence to payroll laws; monitor submissions of approved time sheets, ensure valid data transfers to/from payroll software to related systems

· Utilize your accounting knowledge to prepare payroll journal entries and perform account reconciliations.

· Maintain payroll files, prepare and reconcile all benefits, garnishments and other payroll deductions

· Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local payroll regulations and payroll policies and procedures.

· Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2,1099's, etc.). Review and audit periodic and quarterly payroll files related to wages/taxes and benefits.

· Set up new earnings and deduction codes, new hire information, and any employee related changes

· Accurately code and enter A/P invoices in the accounting system

· 4-year degree or higher in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance

· Other special projects, as assigned
