Description

o Complete technical projects with suppliers to improve supplier process capacity, supplier process capability, supplier process maintainability.

o Determine mechanic manufacturing process requirements to maintain component supply

o Provide technical support for the approval/ validation of changes/ improvements in supplier processes

o Provide technical support for the resolution of component quality issues

o Potentially coordinate RMI/CAD/BOM actives

o Produce component cost comparisons and analyze alternative manufacturing methods for cost improvement projects (CIP’S).

o Sustain supply chain continuity by qualifying and validating supplier tooling as per component approval procedures.

o Ensures closure to component non-conformance issues with timely corrective action submission and approval of suppliers control plans.

o Manages ETQ database for assigned NC’s and CAPA’s completes actions by due dates and provides periodic updates to management.

o Supports supplier evaluations for major service/products issue as needed.

o Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within the work area. Ensures compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.

o Follow J&J Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third-party vendor if applicable.

o Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

o For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

o Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

o Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications

o Knowledge of component manufacturing processes (preferably metal stamping, Machining, sintering, casting, laser cutting, laser welding, etc.), component design for manufacturability, or design requirement cascade for instrument manufacturability.

o Knowledge on metal and plastic material characteristics and related test such as hardness, Elongation at break, tensile strength etc.

o Knowledge on surface treatment like silicon coating, passivation, anodizing, tumbling, sand blasting, knowledge on printing technology like pad print, silk screening, laser marking, etc.

o Knowledge and experience on how to create PFD (Process flow diagram), PFMEA, control plan, knowledge about how to cascade CTQ (Critical to Quality) from drawing & Material spec to implementation documents like CCP (critical control point) in control plan, WI (working instruction), SIP (standard inspection procedure).

o Familiar with GD&T interpretation, tolerance stack up analysis. Knowledge on critical to assembly.

o Familiar with OMM, CMM measuring with fixture and datum definition, know how to perform GRR study, gage compatibility study. CPK, PPK calculation for analysis of process capability.

o Knowledge of components manufacturing costs.
