Job Description

We are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer who will be responsible for supporting our Sales Engineers and customers in achieving goals and increasing sales growth by offering a high level of technical support. The position is based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Co-ordinates with Danfoss Approved Service Partner network, all activities related to the After Sales Market

  • Ensures that the Service Partners evaluation is performed monthly as per the agreements

  • Stays up to date on technical developments in the field of motion controls

  • Manages service activities, i.e. provides quotes, monitors partner stock levels, site assessments, exchanges, warranties, retrofits, and ensures high-quality repairs

  • Ensures validity of customer warranty claims and expedites these

  • Provides technical guidance, application advice, and expertise to customers

  • Communicates with suppliers on issues such as training, product developments, and enhancements, as well as technical queries

  • Evaluate, develop, and implement in-house technical training requirements for customers, Sales Engineers & Danfoss Partners

  • Co-ordinates shows, road shows and exhibitions

  • Visits customer on-site installations to establish the nature of the problem for repair

  • Basic Commissioning support.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 2-3 years of relevant technical experience

  • Proficiency in CRM and advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Effective time management and task prioritization, with strong organizational skills

  • Ability to simplify technical information and communicate effectively

  • Sets high-performance standards and demonstrates leadership potential

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills, customer-focused with cross-market collaboration experience

  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and proficient in critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Maintains composure in challenging situations and anticipates/addresses customer needs promptly.
