Position Specific Description

NEET is seeking an experienced commercial attorney with energy-related transactional and project management expertise to support NEET’s development and management teams. The attorney would be responsible for drafting and negotiating various commercial agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, build-transfer agreements, and joint development agreements related to transmission projects.

The applicant must be a team player with a demonstrated commercial acumen who can interact successfully with clients, management, and counterparties and who can thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Experience in the following is highly preferred: acquisitions and divestitures, financings, development of large energy infrastructure projects, including transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of commercial transactional experience.

Specific Responsibilities:

Deliver timely and quality written and oral legal advice to clients with minimal supervision.

Manage commercial transactions. Identify, mitigate and guard against legal and commercial risk.

Work to ensure budget compliance. Displace outside counsel. Ensure disclosure of material legal issues to General Counsel.

Significant budgetary responsibility; limited supervisory responsibility.

Required Qualifications

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar

• High School Grad / GED

• Juris Doctorate

• Bachelor's Degree

• Experience: 2+ years
