Jacobs is currently recruiting talented individuals to help deliver transport planning projects for our expanding client base.

Jacobs is seeking to hire for a Senior Planner to join one our Rail and Transit Team. Building on the success of the existing team, we are looking to expand further and encourage you to bring your passion and experience to take an active key role . The successful candidate will work as a member of the project team and be based in Kuala Lumpur

In addition you will;

  • Provide robust challenge to the delivery team in relation to project performance

  • Ensure planning practices and standards are consistent across each individual project

  • Use a collaborative approach, create and maintain robust resource & cost loaded plans for the projects

  • Will be involved on a wide range of projects taking on a variety of tasks, where you will be supported to make a valued contribution to the team.

  • Support the delivery of projects effectively to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining technical performance standards

  • Prepare and report periodically on project schedules and support the planning of projects and their reporting requirements;

  • Represent the project team at and progress meetings;

  • identify and maintains program/ project milestone and schedule interface activities

Here’s what you’ll need :

Ideally you will also hold a Degree (Master's / Bachelor’s or its equivalent) in a related discipline, be a member of a relevant professional institution and have:

  • Relevant 15 years of professional experience working on rail and transit projects in a technical capacity

  • Must have experience in preparing and updating detailed works programmes on complex rail projects.

  • Strong analytical, numeracy and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of transport assessment and travel plan methodologies

  • Experience of analyzing, collating and interpreting data

  • Be skilled in oral and written communication;

  • Be proficient with Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Applications;

  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management;

  • Have an appreciation of the activities and workflows required for design, installation, testing and commissioning of rail and transit assets;

  • Good communication skills when interfacing with stakeholders

  • Ability to apply assessment and numerical skills to project work

  • Strong written and numerical presentation skills

  • Be a team player and be flexible to the needs of the project;

  • Be willing to travel to meet project needs.
