SIMWON NA, CORP. EHS Manager in Kyle, Texas

Under minimal supervision, the EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Manager will work with management, supervisors, and employees to create a safe work environment and safety culture. Such as, but not limited to hazard reporting processes, accident investigation procedures and basic safety rules. This position establishes and coordinates a safety committee and conducts regular safety meetings. The EHS Manager is responsible for monitoring working conditions to ensure all activity is compliant with local, state, and federal safety regulations. This person will ensure work spaces and plant equipment are up to safety standards and provides workplace safety training to multiple sites.

Principle Responsibilities Conducts investigations to determine the root cause and implements corrective action. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal Safety Regulations including those set by OSHA and EPA. Manages entire safety program, training, and compliance for all NA sites. Conducts safety audits to identify workplace hazards via periodic safety and health walk- through inspections of all workplace facilities. Manages the ordering, distribution, and compliance of PPE and PPE company policy. Writing, implementing, and managing EHS Programs, policies, and procedures. Complete and maintain OSHA 300 log. In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards. Manages and maintains safety training records and documentation, creation of SOPs. Manages the forklift operator process and certification. Manages fleet maintenance and compliance ensuring drivers are insured and appropriately licensed. LOTO policies, and compliance.

Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Health/Safety, industrial hygiene, or a related field; or a combination of related experience and education 5+ years of experience in safety practices required. Experience with a manufacturing or processing company strongly preferred. Profound knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace. Ability to read and interpret dense legal and federal OSHA documents. Good organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills. MS Office Overtime or weekend work is required occasionally. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred; Korean is a plus.

Physical Requirements Work is considered low physical work in an office and production setting, requiring lifting up to 25 pounds. Must possess strength, stamina, and mobility to perform low physical work indoors with minimum exposure to dust. The office is adjacent to a manufacturing/assembly facility facing constant noise and will be in contact with other staff. The noise level and temperature in the work environment are usually moderate but may vary. Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time. Demonstrate the ability to hear and have specific vision abilities to adjust focus, in an environment subject to noise, dust, etc.
