VF Corporation HR Generalist in Leicestershire, United Kingdom

HR Generalist – 12-month FTC

Salary Range: £32,000 - £41,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (between 8.30am and 5pm)

Working style: Hybrid – 3 days per week on site but may also be required to cover more days when team members are on annual leave.

VF Corporation is looking for an exceptional HR Generalist to join the team based at our UK Distribution Centre in Bardon, Leicestershire. This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Let’s Talk about the Role

As a HR Generalist you’ll support our managers on site as an employee relations subject matter expert. You’ll facilitate and deliver HR surgeries on people policies and lead on wider strategic projects and people initiatives.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • You will ensure optimal support & guidance around Tier 1 & 2 ER cases such as sickness/absence, managing performance and probation, disciplinary & grievances, redundancies etc. Your approach when giving advice will be coach and empowering our people leaders.

  • Conducting HR Surgeries around Absence/Performance Management/Family Friendly policies and assisting with facilitating external training and services such as Drugs and Alcohol testing.

  • Support with day-to-day associate queries through HR Inbox and face to face on site

  • Give support in different projects such as Recruitment, Retention, Communications, Training & Development, Reward & Recognition and overall Employee Engagement.

  • Using data to drive business decisions and process improvement.

  • Support different UK functions such as Retail and Corporate Offices as and when required.

Skills for Success

You should be someone who can demonstrate confidence, credibility and knowledge in handling all HR matters. Knowledge and awareness of the complexities of working within a big global company such as:

  • The ability to juggle and prioritise multiple tasks at a time that can be very demanding.

  • Experience of complex ER cases is essential.

  • Attention to detail when handling Employee Relations cases, including a thorough review of ER documents and outcome letters.

  • Good written and verbal communications skills, and an understanding of how to communicate with different audiences.

  • An excellent team player who is proactive and enjoys working with a sense of urgency, as well as a varied workload.

  • Experience of dealing with tribunals process is advantageous.

  • Experience in a fast-moving consumer goods environment, such as warehousing desirable.

  • CIPD level 5 qualified (and above) is desired but not essential.
