Your Responsibilities

  • Communicates with customer to establish understanding of customer's technical requirements and convey certification capabilities, requirements, organisational expertise.

  • Creates and reviews technical proposals for customers by integrating knowledge of product, regulatory requirements, market, price point, organisational capabilities, and business strategy.

  • Participates in design reviews and provide input from certification/airworthiness perspective to ensure robust design solutions and minimise risk to programs while optimising cost and lead time.

  • Works in conjunction with design engineering and the value stream to develop processes for product support of Collins aerospace galley products.

  • Coordinates the certification/airworthiness effort for ISS modification & upgrade projects for galley products to ensure that all agreed upon product specific certification/regulatory requirements are met. This includes identifying program deliverables, delegating relevant tasks to other team members, and tracking the progress of said task to completion to ensure on time delivery and quality of work.

  • Interacts with various teams and departments within Winston-Salem, Leighton Buzzard, Philippines and Bangalore. Galley projects may include Airbus, LB DOA, PMA, 3rd Party DOA, FAA ODA, DERs, CVEs, FAA/EASA/CAA, etc.

  • Prepares documentation including Cert plans, Compliance Reports, Qualification plans/reports, defining test pass/fail criteria. Checks documents produced by other engineers.

  • Conducts reviews of complex analyses and tests pertaining to the development of new designs, methods, materials and reports to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Reviews entail advanced engineering principles, company standards/procedures, industry standards, regulatory guidance, and regulatory requirements. Provides constructive feedback to internal and external customers.

  • Reviews and approves drawings and reports to ensure conformity to regulatory requirements. As required, checks for document clarity, completeness, form, fit, function, and conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications.

  • Research regulations, develop critical data, and generate documentation in response to customer/integrator requirements and/or FAA or foreign regulatory agency requests. Effectively communicates with necessary parties.

  • Coordinates or leads continuous improvement initiatives that involve cross-functional team settings and responsibilities.

  • Works with integrated project team(s) to develop standard processes for pursuit to capture and design to deliver phases of the ISS modification and upgrade business for Collins Aerospace galley products.

  • Creates standard work to document ISS certification and engineering procedures and standard program flow for galley related projects.

  • Develop engineering techniques and on various engineering disciplines to solve problems and make design & certification decisions.

  • Participates as a team player across the organization and keep the values and vision of the organization.

Experience and Skills

  • Degree from accredited university (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering

  • Engineering Experience

  • Competence with Microsoft Office suite to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.

  • Experience of working in IPT structure and supporting disciplines and projects.

  • Previously held signatory approvals or working towards

  • Dynamic problem solving 'can-do' attitude.

  • Team player

  • Systems knowledge including experience of systems testing.
