Stephens & Smith Construction Entry Level Accounting Assistant in Lincoln, Nebraska

Job Description

The Accounting Assistant is a full-time, entry-level position responsible for supporting the accounting staff in a variety of tasks related to accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer, screen and transfer inbound phone calls.

  • Receive and direct customers, vendors, and visitors.

  • Work with AR and AP completing basic accounting duties.

  • Scanning and indexing of documents into the document retention system.

  • Export and import data from one software to another.

  • Assist other departments as needed with special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Base knowledge of accounting with 1 year of experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills to include knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and ability to learn and navigate software easily.

  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Detail oriented.
