About the Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth of our Energy & Environment market, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to build and develop technical delivery capability supporting major Low Carbon Fuels & Industrial Decarbonisation projects and programmes for our clients and for Jacobs.

The purpose of these roles is to raise and nurture our technical capabilities and strategically position Jacobs to win and deliver major Low Carbon Fuels & Industrial Decarbonisation projects globally. The role will lead the development of our capabilities growing capacity capacity through our existing talent, strategic recruitment, and the attraction of engineering and design talent to access new markets and geographies.

Our Engineering Managers/Technical Directors are working leaders, executing projects for our clients, nurturing talent, and supporting growth strategies in conjunction with our growth & sales and operational teams. Operating in a Technical Leadership role, you will provide vision and direction to use our collective ability to deliver client solutions that benefit our people and planet. The roles are agile, responding to the needs of the market, and you’ll find yourself in a mixture of client facing and delivery positions, working with a network of senior leaders in:

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Significant experience of delivering technical solutions in complex processing plants, e.g., Feasibility, Concept, Pre-FEED, FEED, Owners Engineer, and Systems Integrator.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop senior level relationships with clients, and to use these to deliver mutual benefit.

  • Strong leadership capability and experience, with the ability to lead, manage, encourage, and inspire diverse groups of people and a wide range of disciplines.

  • A strong commitment to sustainable development and embedding this throughout the lifecycle of major programme delivery.

  • Strong commercial understanding and demonstrated capability in managing profitability or similar financial performance.

  • Substantial experience of major capital projects and programmes in the energy industry with previous experience managing multi-discipline teams through stage gates capital value processes.

  • Domain and technical knowledge of low carbon fuels production, liquefaction, storage, export, import & regassification and in carbon capture, utilisation & storage.

  • Deep understanding and experience of all aspects of multi-disciple engineering and design delivery from feasibility through detailed engineering and optimisation.

  • Proven expertise in client/stakeholder relationship management with professional institutions, academia and leading industry bodies promoting technical excellence.
