Insight Global EHS Manager in Los Angeles, California

Job Description

Formulizes required safety policies and procedures.

Conducts accident investigations, oversees corrective actions, and implements preventive measures.

Follows up on pending safety improvements.

Monitors the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.

Trains workers on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.

Verifies compliance with health and safety regulations and ensures all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.

Manages Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.

Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

Reduces worker compensation cost by coordinating safety inspections, performing accident & near miss investigations, and ensuring corrective action is taken.

Ensures OSHA compliance and updates OSHA 300 log.

Works with departmental heads to address safety issues as they arise.

Holds Management Safety Meetings and bilingual Safety Committee Meetings at assigned locations on monthly basis.

Performs area specific hazardous analysis.

Chairs Monthly Safety Committee Meetings.

Enforces all company rules in a fair and consistent manner.

Report any food safety or quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Skills and Requirements

1. Education and training:

Requires training in OSHA &/or Cal-OSHA, Adult CPR, Standard First Aid.

Prefer BA/BS degree in related field.

2. Job-related experience:

Minimum 4 years' experience in a safety management position in a manufacturing environment.

3. Managerial experience:

4. Technical knowledge and skills:

Ability to develop and formalize written safety procedures in compliance with applicable government regulations.

Must be able to read, write, & speak English & Spanish.

Ability to work with all department heads and hold safety committee meetings.

Must have proficient computer skills to perform the required duties (such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, e-mail, etc.).

Ability to identify safety concerns and to perform job safety analysis.
