Job Description Essential Responsibilities Participate/support the Risk Management Process (RMP) and assist in the development of the system, operational standards and corrective actions. Track & analyze safety metrics and pre-emptive safety events using advanced Excel functions. Gather, interpret, and use complex data from multiple cross functional database types to develop actional steps that will improve processes and optimize results. Coordinate inspections and preventative maintenance. Maintain OSHA 300 log. Responsible for updating SDS sheets. Maintains & monitors confidential workers' compensation medical records and cases from the FROI through medical treatment, rehabilitation, return to work and light duty program in accordance with state guidelines. Responsible for day-to-day interaction with Workers' Compensation third party administrators to ensure timely, accurate claims management through the Intelex data base. Maintains regular communications as company's liaison with the medical facilities and insurance companies. Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations as they apply to occupational and non-occupational safety, health, and workers' compensation. Updates, Reviews & analyses utility usage. Respond to medical emergencies occurring on company property and administer first aid and/or medical assistance as needed. Coordinate/implement annual audiograms. Responsible for maintaining pre-scheduled appointments (PSA) for Non-Union Hourly and Union Hourly employees. Maintain an adequate supply of medical, safety and health (PPE) supplies throughout the factory. Functions in a self-directed and organized manner. Participates & assists in plant safety committee meetings. As necessary, other duties and/or projects may be assigned. Education and Experience Associate degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or 3-5 years of related industrial safety field experience. Bilingual fluid exchange between English and Spanish preferred. Advanced knowledge of Excel with the capacity to use functions, features, formulas, and macros to organize, analyze, and adjust data. Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint with the ability to create compelling presentations with cohesive themes. Certified in Standard First Aid, CPR/AED - Adult certification and Bloodborne Pathogens Training: PDT. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently. Good problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities in an organized manner and meet deadlines. Ability to develop a professional rapport with employees, management, and medical legal specialists. Able to think clearly and react effectively in medical emergency situations. While this is an afternoon shift, would have the ability to work flexible hourly schedules to include days, afternoons, midnights, and weekends when needed. Proficient skills in calculating figures and applies basic business math. Physical/Mental Requirements: While performing this job can regularly use hands, fingers, talk, stand, walk, sit reach, climb, stoop, kneel, and crawl. Occasionally, may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Will be required to respond to medical needs in the production areas. Demonstrate reliability and good work ethics, quality work performance, attention to detail and maintain a good working relationship with all other departments. Must be able to work independently with little supervision. Ability to multitask and work in a team oriented fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal, and organizational skills.
